welcome to my site. i attempt to photograph and document the large number of victorian lunatic asylums which were once throughout the UK. most of these beautiful buildings have been, are in the process of, or are soon to be destroyed and lost forever. my aim is to be able to show the beauty of these buildings to those who otherwise would not know of their existence, and to keep their memory alive after they have gone.

it makes me very upset to look through my pictures from my recent cane hill visits. so much has gone now. it hurts so much that its actually a physical feeling. the most painful part is looking at a section that has been demolished and realising that i no longer remember what used to be there.
